What creative touch do you add to your products?
I like to do things that no one else does. I like to make things that are utilitarian, functional and beautiful.
What are special features about your product?
I make things that are wonderful for everyday use as well as special occasions. Our items are an excellent gift for someone who has everything. They are also easy to care for, they are dishwasher safe.
What is the most exciting experience in this business?
I really love the positive reactions of the people who see my products. I also love to do the designs and development of new products. I like to experiment with things that have not been done before. I like the idea that I am not limited to preconceived ideas. I am lucky to be able to do work that I have a passion for doing.
What advice would you have for shoppers?
When you look at glass pieces feel the edge and ask yourself if it feels like a finely finished piece.
What advice do you have for other businesses that are starting up?
My advice is to educate yourself. Try new things and don’t give up on something before you have tried all of the angles. I have attended classes at the Maine Art Glass Studios in Lisbon Falls, Me. and recommend continuing education in your field.
What do you like about living and working on the Peninsula?
I can live anywhere I want, especially doing this kind of work but I was raised near the ocean and have a love of this area because it feels familiar. It is wonderful being so close to the ocean.
